Playgirl’s story is one of strength, resilience, and quiet devotion. Raised on a farm in Ohio, she was trained to work cattle and quickly discovered what she loved most — cutting cows out of herds. Fast, focused, and incredibly athletic, Playgirl became a National Champion Cutting Horse, excelling in the arena with the heart of a true competitor. Working cows was not just something she did; it was something she loved deeply.

Then, during a competition when she was only nine years old, everything changed. While working cattle in the show pen, Playgirl broke her coffin bone — a painful and career-ending injury for many horses. Yet despite the pain she was carrying, Playgirl finished the class and won. That was the kind of heart she had. Determined, faithful, and willing to give everything she had for the job she loved.

Although she could no longer continue her career as a cutting horse, Playgirl’s story was far from over. After spending a few years raising babies and proving to be a wonderful mama, Playgirl eventually made her way to Image of Hope Ranch. For the past ten years, she has faithfully carried another kind of purpose — helping children heal.

Playgirl has a steady and grounding presence about her. She seems to understand when someone is carrying pain they cannot put into words. One teen girl came to the ranch during a season of deep grief and loss. Her mother, desperate to help her daughter, reached out to Image of Hope Ranch unsure of what else to do. But Playgirl knew. The girl spent hours riding Playgirl while listening to music, slowly finding peace in the rhythm of their rides together. Over time, trust grew so deeply between them that she learned to ride Playgirl without a saddle or bridle, guiding her only through movement, connection, and trust. What developed between them was far more than horsemanship — it was healing. Years later, that girl still says her time riding Playgirl was the one thing that carried her through one of the darkest seasons of her life.

Playgirl reminds us that even when life changes course unexpectedly, purpose can still be found in beautiful new places. Once a champion in the arena, she is now a champion for hurting hearts.
